Hustiadi was born in Dadiharja
Village Rancah Ciamis, October 8th 1962. He is the first child of
Husen, a teacher and Kantini, a housewife. Why was he named “Hustiadi”? What is
the meaning of that name? When Kantini was pregnant, there was an incident.
Some missionarists intended to build a church in Subang, a district near
Dadiharja. Husen with his strong religion didn’t agree with that plan. One of
his family was also affected by those missionarists and converted to Christian
because of his poverty and as we know, missionarists usually do the approach to
the poor people. To discomfit the missionarists, Husen went to Bandung and try
to communicate with the pastor in the central church in Bandung. After that
negotiation, the missionarists canceled the plan to build a church in Subang. When
Kantini’s baby was born, Husen wanted the name of the baby can be memorized his
heroic action. So, he named his first child: “HUSTIADI” which means “HUSEN
TIDAK INGKAR AKAN DJALAN ALLAH”. He wished the baby could grow up as a man with
the bravery and his strong religion.
Hustiadi has a younger brother
and a younger sister. Hustiadi spent his childhood in Dadiharja and when he was
teenager, he moved to Kuningan because Husen was reassigned to Kuningan.
Hustiadi showed good performance in the subjects when he was in senior high
school. Unfortunately, he got the intestinal pain when he was in the first year
of senior high school. It made him has to get the intestinal surgery and missed
the lessons for a while. At that time, he was going to die. After the,
intestinal surgery, Hustiadi slept for some days. His father was pessimistic
that he could be recover again. And in the morning, Hustiadi showed a movement
when his father was praying. His father was so affected and said it was like
finding the lost boy. Hustiadi saw it and he never forget his father’s words
until now.
